A reinterpretation of Tony Conrad’s Four Violins.

Although the result isn’t all that comparable to Conrad’s original piece and seeing that I don’t ever reach the level of ecstasy he did with his 1964 recording, Four Violins (and his greater body of work) laid the foundation for the gestures that guided me during my own performance as well as the sonic qualities and motifs I aimed to reproduce.

This recording consists of two layered bowed guitar takes for a total of four separate amplifier tracks.

Hail Tony Conrad. RIP.
